      A paper titled "Scheduling of Smart Factories using Edge Computing and Clouds", describing the SAFIRE research related to Reconfiguration-as-a-Service as an emerging trend for dynamic smart factories, was presented at the 1st International Workshop on Trustworthy and Real-time Edge Computing for Cyber-Physical Systems (TREC4CPS), held in conjunction with the IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS) in Nashville, Tennessee, USA in December 2018.       Project Meeting held in London on 13-14 December

      The SAFIRE project partners met in London on 13-14 December to coordinate the finalisation of the full prototype technologies due at the end of the year, and to plan for the industrial evaluations and demonstrators for each of the manufacturing scenarios addressing product optimisation and personalisation, production processes and preventive maintenance, and adaptive machining for improved part quality and sustainability.

      SAFIRE featured in "Bremen Goes AI" article

      Partners OAS and ATB presented the SAFIRE project within the article “Bremen goes AI”, where 5 examples for AI solutions from organisations in the Bremen area are presented. The article appeared in the regional publication Wirtschaft in Bremen und Bremerhaven published by the Bremen Chamber of Commerce.
